Abstract

Abstract The amplifier includes a power transistor (T) which receives an RF signal at its base. A servo loop controls the average collector current, which is monitored by an op-amp (G) using a measuring resistance (R1). The output of the op-amp drives a second transistor (T1) in a circuit including a third transistor (T2) which biases the base of the power transistor. These transistors and their negative feedback loop (R8-R10) constitute a conventional base-emitter voltage multiplier with min. impedance chosen to prevent variation of the bias voltage at the frequency of the RF signal (E).
