Blends of block copolymers and metallocene polyolefins

Claim 2

The composition according to claim 1, comprising one block copolymer which has the structure S-EB-S.

Claim 3

The composition according to claim 1 or 2, wherein the comonomer in the metallocene polyolefin is octene.

Claim 4

A composition according to any one of claims 1 to 3 comprising i) 90 parts by weight of a block copolymer having at least two monoalkenyl arene blocks separated by a saturated conjugated diene block and ii) from 10 to 70 parts by weight of the polymer components of a metallocene polyolefin having a density from 0.86 to 0.91, a molecular weight distribution less than 3.

Claim 5

The composition according to any one of claims 1 to 3 comprising i) from 25% to 70% by weight of a block copolymer having at least two monoalkenyl arene blocks separated by a hydrogenated conjugated diene block; ii) from 15% to 60% by weight of the polymer components of an elatomeric polyolefin having a density from 0.86 to 0.91, a molecular weight distribution less than 3; iii) from 0% to 25% by weight of a crystalline polyolefin; and iv) from 15% to 28% by weight of a tackifying resin.

Claim 6

The composition according to any one of claims 1 to 3 comprising i) from 20% to 35% by weight of a first hydrogenated block copolymer comprising at least two blocks A which are predominantly polymerised alkenyl arene and at least one block B which is predominantly polymerized conjugated diene the first hydrogenated block copolymer comprising from 1 to 60 percent by weight of polymerised alkenyl arene, having a number average molecular weight within the range of 55,000 to 200,000, and comprising less than 20% residual ethylenic unsaturation in the conjugated diene block; ii) from 8% to 33% by weight of a second hydrogenated block copolymer comprising at least two blocks A which are predominantly polymerised alkenyl arene and at least one block B which is predominantly polymerized conjugated diene, the second hydrogenated block copolymer comprising from 1 to 60 percent by weight of polymerised alkenyl arene, having a number average molecular weight within the range of 15,000 to 85,000, and comprising less than 20% residual ethylenic unsaturation of the conjugated diene block, wherein the ratio of the molecular weight of the first hydrogenated block copolymer to the ratio of the molecular weight of the second hydrogenated block copolymer is greater than 1.1:1; and iii) from 10% to 30% by weight of an metallocene polyolefin having a density from 0.86 to 0.91, a molecular weight distribution less than 3.

Claim 7

The composition according to claim 6 wherein the number average molecular weight of the first hydrogenated block copolymer is between 60,000 and 110,000.

Claim 8

The composition according to claim 6 or 7 wherein the number average molecular weight of the second hydrogenated block copolymer is between 30,000 and 60,000.

Claim 9

The composition according to any one of claims 1 to 6, which further comprises an extending oil.

Claim 10

A composition according to any one of claims 1 to 9 wherein the metallocene polyolefin has a good distribution of ethylene and from 8% to 30% by weight of an α-olefin comonomer having from 4 to 12 carbon atoms.

Claim 11

A film comprising the composition according to any one of claims 1 to 10.
