Abstract

Abstract A glassware forming machine comprising at least one event driven database operating on one protocol, at least one workstation operating on a second protocol including a library of API calls in the one protocol, a socket library for sending call packets in the second protocol, a gateway library for transporting an API call in said one protocol to a call packet in the second protocol, a network gateway including a socket library for receiving call packets in the second protocol, and a gateway service for translating a call packet received by the network gateway socket library in the second protocol to an API call in said first protocol and for delivering the translation call to the event driven data base.

A glassware forming machine according to claim 1, further characterized wherein said gateway service further comprises means for translating data in aid first protocol received from said event driven database into data in said second protocol, said network gateway further comprises means for delivering a packet of data in said second protocol to said workstation socket library, and said gateway library further comprises means for translating said delivered data in said second protocol to data having said first protocol.
