Claim 1
Independent Claim
98 words
In a telecommunications network connecting a first telecommunications device to a second telecommunications device, a method of selectively switching to audio in-band signalling between said first and second telecommunications devices, said method comprising the steps of: initiating a communication between said first telecommunications device and said second telecommunications device, sending a first signal from said first telecommunications device to said second telecommunications device, displaying via said second telecommunications device a first icon representing said first signal, and selectively switching said first telecommunications device and said second telecommunications device to audio in-band signaling in based on said first icon.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim
11 words
The method of claim 1 wherein said first signal is recorded.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim
17 words
The method of claim 1 wherein said first icon identifies a user of said first telecommunications device.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim
30 words
The method of claim 1 further comprising the step of sending a second signal from said second telecommunications device to said first telecommunications device, said signal representing a second icon.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim
15 words
The method of claim 1 wherein said telecommunications network is the public switched telephone network.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim
145 words
In a telecommunications network connecting a first telecommunications device to a second telecommunications device, a method of transmitting specified data from said first telecommunications device to said second telecommunications device comprising the steps of: initiating a communication between said first telecommunications device and said second telecommunications device; sending a first signal from said first telecommunications device to said second telecommunications device wherein said signal represents a set of information available for transmission; sending a second signal from said second telecommunications device to said first telecommunications device wherein said second signal represents specified data that a user of said second telecommunications device wishes to receive; and sending a third signal from said first telecommunications device to said second telecommunications device wherein said third signal represents said specified data; and storing said specified data for use as an icon for a user of said second telecommunications device.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim
80 words
In a telecommunications device network connecting a first telecommunications device to a second telecommunications device, a method of sending specified data from said first telecommunications device to said second telecommunications device comprising the steps of: initiating a communication between said first telecommunications device and said second telecommunications device; transmitting said specified data from said first telecommunications device to said second telecommunications device; and storing said specified data for use as an icon for a user of said second telecommunications device.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim
17 words
The method of claim 7 wherein said first telecommunications device initiates said communication at a predetermined time.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim
17 words
The method of claim 7 wherein said second telecommunications device initiates said communication at a predetermined time.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim
40 words
The method of claim 7 further comprising the step of: sending a signal from said first telecommunications device to said second telecommunications device wherein said signal is an enabling signal for saving said predetermined data at said second telecommunications device.
Claim 11
Dependent Claim
26 words
The method of claim 7 wherein said step of initiating said communication further comprises the steps of: sending a notification signal; and muting said notification signal.
Claim 12
Dependent Claim
22 words
The method of claim 11 wherein said step of initiating said communication further comprises verifying the identification of said first telecommunications device.
Claim 13
Dependent Claim
23 words
The method of claim 12 wherein said step of verifying is performed by checking the caller identification number of said first telecommunications device.
Claim 14
Dependent Claim
13 words
The method of claim 12 wherein said step of verifying uses in-band coding.
