Incident recording system in a public transportation vehicle

Abstract

Abstract The invention relates to a safety system for a vehicle for carrying persons, such as a taxi, comprising a camera (10) for taking images of the persons carried, a data processing device (14) connected to the camera and including a microcontroller and a memory intended to record the images coming from the camera, under the control of the microcontroller, a keyboard (16) for inputting a secret code and a switch (18), both being connected to the data processing device, the switch controlling the starting of the system after a secret code has been input by means of the keyboard (16), so that one or more images of persons carried are recorded and can subsequently be restored, either locally using a local monitor (22), or remotely after transmission using a radio transmitter/receiver (24) or a radiotelephone, in order to provide identification of the persons in the event of an incident such as an attack on the taxi driver. <IMAGE>
