Fieldstation for a computer controlled serial bus system
Abstract
Abstract A field station (10) for a computer-controlled serial bus system is proposed which is provided with a power supply device, with at least one input/output device to which external devices to be controlled and/or to be monitored can be connected, and with a communication and control device which can be connected to the serial bus and establishes the communication between the latter and the at least one input/output device. In a holding device (18), a distributor facility (23) exhibiting a number of plug-in locations (28) connected by internal bus and supply lines is arranged. The supply device, the at least one input/output device and the communications and control device are constructed as plug-in modules (15) which can be inserted into the plug-in locations (28). The at least one plug-in input/output module (15) is provided with control and/or monitoring terminals (53) for the external facilities to be controlled and/or to be monitored. In this modularly constructed field station (10), individual plug-in modules can be exchanged and installed in a simple manner without changing line terminals, it being possible to connect various types of plug-in modules in any arrangement in a simple manner to the bus and supply lines. <IMAGE>
