Claim 1
Independent Claim
259 words
Coaxial connector module, comprising a housing (2) of electrically insulating material, provided with at least two electrical contact elements (4) each having a contact side in the form of a coaxial inner (6;34) and outer (5; 33) contact part for contacting a further connector and a right angle connection side for mounting on a printed circuit board (9) in the form of an electrical conductor (25) which is connected to the inner contact part (6; 34) and is provided with a connection end (26; 45) for mounting on the printed circuit board, said conductor is surrounded in an electrically insulating manner by a shielding casing (14; 15) of electrically conducting sheet material which is electrically connected to the outer contact part (5;33), said casing (14; 15) having an essentially circular cylindrical shape which towards the connection end (26; 45) of the conductor merges into two adjacent side-pieces (19; 22) provided with at least one connection end (24; 44) for mounting on the printed circuit board, characterised in that at least one higher and at least one lower contact element (4) are disposed above one another viewed from the connection side for mounting on the printed circuit board, wherein a first part (20) of the side-pieces of the casing (15) of each higher situated contact element bounds a circular cylindrical cross-section and engages on the circular cylindrical part (18) of the adjacent casing (14) situated lower down, while a second part (21) of said side-pieces extends beyond each lower situated casing and has at least one connection end (24; 44).
Claim 2
Dependent Claim
19 words
Coaxial connector module according to Claim 1, wherein said side-pieces (19; 22) are made resilient in their transverse direction.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim
43 words
Coaxial connector module according to Claim 1 or 2, wherein the connection ends (24) of a casing (14, 15) are projections formed near corner points of the side-pieces for surface mounting, with a flat end (23) formed at right angles to said side-pieces.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim
33 words
Coaxial connector module according to Claim 3, wherein said casing (14; 15) is provided with a movable cover (35; 36) at the end facing away from the contact side of the contact element.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim
39 words
Coaxial connecter module according to Claim 4, wherein said cover (35; 36) is provided with an elongated lip (38; 39) and the casing having a groove (40, 41) for receiving said lip when mounting the cover to the casing.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim
26 words
Coaxial connector module according to Claim 4 or 5, wherein said cover (35; 36) is provided with at least one connection end (37) for surface mounting.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim
44 words
Coaxial connector module according to Claim 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6, wherein two or more contact elements disposed above one another form a separate unit for accommodation in the housing, which unit and housing are provided with means (42) for interlocking thereof.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim
74 words
Coaxial connector module according to Claim 7, wherein said locking means comprise at least one groove formed in the housing and at least one corresponding lobe (42) projecting from a casing, in such a manner that when the unit and the housing are mounted said at least one lobe engages in said at least one groove and said one or more casings project outside beyond the housing for connection to a printed circuit board.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim
16 words
Coaxial connector module according to Claim 7 or 8, comprising a plurality of adjacently arranged units.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim
275 words
Assembly of a housing (2) and a unit comprising two or more contact elements (4) each having a contact side in the form of a coaxial inner (6; 34) and outer (5; 33) contact part for contacting a further connector and a right angle connection side for mounting on a printed circuit board (9) in the form of an electrical conductor (25) which is connected to the inner contact part (6; 34) and is provided with a connection end (26; 45) for mounting on the printed circuit board, said conductor is surrounded in an electrically insulating manner by a shielding casing (14; 15) of electrically conducting sheet material which is electrically connected to the outer contact part (5; 33), said casing (14; 15) having an essentially circular cylindrical shape which towards the connection end (26; 45) of the conductor merges into two adjacent side-pieces (19; 22) provided with at least one connection end (24; 44) for mounting on the printed circuit board, at least one higher and at least one lower contact element are disposed above one another viewed from the connection side for mounting on the printed circuit board, wherein a first part (20) of the side-pieces of the casing (15) of each higher situated contact element bounds a circular cylindrical cross section and engages on the circular cylindrical part (18) of the adjacent casing (14) situated lower down, while a second part (21) of said side-pieces extends beyond each lower situated casing and has at least one connection end (24; 44), said unit being suitable for accommodating in the housing, and the unit and housing being provided with means (42) for interlocking thereof.
