Claims Analysis
Total Claims: 15
Claim 1
Independent Claim
112 words
A chassis of a device, for example an electronic device, wherein the device comprises a plurality of components, for example printed circuit boards (26,35), storage disks (28), ventilators (31), etc., and wherein the chassis supports the components of the device, the chassis comprising a support unit (1,2) of plastic material having recesses (41,42,60; 46,47; 29,43; 32,44) which fit the outer shapes of the components, respectively, with the components being held in the corresponding recesses, respectively, due to the form-fitting connection of the components with the plastic material, thus making the use of fastening elements for mounting the components unnecessary, and with the components being enclosed by said support unit when inserted therein.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim
Claim 3
Dependent Claim
23 words
Achassis as in claim 1, wherein the plastic material is furnished with electrically conductive material which is sufficiently conductive to prevent electrostatic charging.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim
49 words
A chassis as in claim 1 or 2, wherein the support unit comprises: a) a lower part (1) into which the components (26,35,28,31) can be inserted when assembling the chassis, and b) an upper part (2) for the form-fitting covering of the lower part (1) with the inserted components.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim
41 words
A chassis as in claim 3, wherein the lower part and the upper part are movably connected to each other along an edge such that the upper part can be turned up for accessing the components inserted in the lower part.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim
23 words
A chassis as in any of the preceding claims, wherein the support unit comprises ventilation ducts (30,40; 55,56) formed in the plastic material.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim
34 words
A chassis as in claim 5, wherein a ventilator (31) is arranged in a ventilation duct such that the stream of air generated by the ventilator flows past components which are to be cooled.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim
31 words
A chassis as in any of the claims 1 to 4 , comprising a tube system for circulation of a cooling agent and a heat exchanger connected to the tube system.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim
37 words
A chassis as in any of the preceding claims, wherein recesses are formed in different planes (41 ; 29), one plane being arranged above the other, so that components (26,28) can be stacked one above the other.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim
18 words
A chassis as in any of the preceding claims, wherein the support unit (1,2) is manufactured by moulding.
Claim 11
Dependent Claim
20 words
A chassis as in any of the preceding claims, wherein the plastic material has a density of approximately 60-80 g/I.
Claim 12
Dependent Claim
16 words
A chassis as in any of the preceding claims, wherein the plastic material is expanded polypropylene.
Claim 13
Dependent Claim
17 words
Use of a chassis as in any of the claims 1 to 11 in an optical device.
Claim 14
Dependent Claim
35 words
Use of a chassis as in any of the claims 1 to 11 in a device for analytical chemistry, for example a liquid chromatograph, wherein channels for transporting liquids are provided in the plastic material.
Claim 15
Independent Claim
23 words
A device comprising a chassis as in any of the preceding claims, wherein the plastic chassis is enclosed in a metal housing (3).
