Trigger mechanism for a seat belt pretensioner
Abstract
Abstract A trigger mechanism for belt tightening devices has a sensor body which is actuated when the vehicle is involved in both front and rear collisions. The sensor body can be pivotably mounted and formed by functional parts of the drive of the tightening device. In a belt tightening device which has been combined with a belt retractor (10) to form an assembly and which has a pyrotechnical piston/cylinder drive, the sensor body consists of a support block (40) which is pivotably mounted on a support (12), a guiding cylinder (42) being attached in the support block (40) and accommodating a piston. A striking lever (50) which is pivotably mounted in the support (12) is released to activate a percussion cap on a gas generating cartridge (44) when the support block (40) is pivoted in one direction or the other in a vehicle-sensitive manner. <IMAGE>
