Abstract Filtration and communication device between the atmosphere and an oil sump (1) of the type which comprises a casing (2) provided with vents (3) and enclosing a filtering cartridge (4) delimiting a volume which communicates on the one hand with the outside across a filtering medium (5) and on the other hand with the sump (1) via a vertical passage (6), characterised in that it further comprises internal means (7) for recuperating and recycling the oil from the filtering medium (5) as well as internal means (S) for communicating the sump (1) directly with the atmosphere in the case of the said medium (5) clogging. <IMAGE>
