Abstract

Abstract Electrical connector intended to connect two electrically conducting members capable of being traversed by very high currents, especially by short-circuit currents, comprising: a first connector element (A) fitted with a socket (2); a second connector element (B), which can be mechanically coupled to the preceding one, fitted with a plug (3) capable of being housed in the socket (2) when the two elements (A, B) are coupled, the elements (A, B) having, respectively about the socket (2) and the pin (4), at least one annular skirt (6, 9) extending axially and at least one contiguous annular recess (7a, 10) which is shaped and positioned to receive the annular skirt of the other connector element when the two elements are coupled; and at least two contact straps (5A, 5B) which are arranged concentrically and are approximately mutually aligned radially, these straps being interposed between the facing surfaces of the socket, plug (pin) and skirts which are mutually fitted together when the two elements (A, B) are coupled. <IMAGE>
