Device for determining index-information recorded on a magnetic tape, for fast access to video signal parts

Abstract

Abstract Video recorders with a memory in the recorder for archiving index information on magnetic tape cassettes have the disadvantage that only the index information of magnetic tape cassettes which have also been recorded on the same video recorder can be stored in the memory. In the case of the device proposed, a separate archiving run makes it possible also to store in the memory in the recorder magnetic tape cassettes which were not recorded on the video recorder which has the memory for index archiving.
