Abstract

A digital telecommunications system is described, with a central switching center (10) and with several subscriber stations (20a-20d), in which the calling subscriber station (20a) sends a call signal to the switching center (10) which identifies the identification number of the called subscriber station (20b). contains, and in which the central exchange (10) detects the identification number of the calling first subscriber station (20a). According to the invention, the central exchange (10) has a callback memory with several memory locations (11a-11d) each assigned to a subscriber station, in each of which the identification number of a subscriber station (20a-20d) of the digital telecommunications system can be stored, so that the second Subscriber station (20b) has a callback function key (21), the actuation of which, after triggering the connection between the first (20a) and the second subscriber station (20b), generates a callback signal, which has the effect that the in the second Memory location (11b) assigned to the subscriber station (11b) of the callback memory (11) is read out stored identification number of the calling first subscriber station (20a), and that the identification number of the first subscriber station (20a) read out from the callback memory (11) is used as the call destination number for the callback of the first subscriber station (20a) is used.
