Test station, especially for semiconductor wafers
Abstract
<IMAGE> A vacuum enclosure is defined by a platform (10) surmounted by a bell (20) with an optical window (21). Internally, the enclosure houses a table (30), the lower plate of which receives a four-axis positioning mechanism (40), supporting an insulating insert (60) surmounted by a temperature-regulated head carrying a semiconductor wafer (W ). The upper plate (32) of the table receives needle-holder devices capable of coming into contact in an adjustable manner on contact pads of the plate (W) for testing purposes, while a flat solenoid (90), fitted with a thermal insulating screen, allows the application of a magnetic field to the wafer. This set allows extremely sophisticated measurements under electrical, magnetic as well as optical excitations, at temperatures ranging from that of liquid nitrogen up to a few hundred degrees Celsius. <IMAGE>
