Claims Analysis
Total Claims: 6
Claim 1
Independent Claim
51 words
A process for treating a surface of a glass plate with a water repellent, which comprises forming at least one transparent metal oxide film layer on the surface of the glass, rendering the surface of the metal oxide film layer into fine unevenness, and then coating it with a water repellent.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim
51 words
A process for treating a surface of a glass plate with a water repellent, which comprises forming at least one transparent metal oxide film layer on the surface of the glass, rendering the surface of the metal oxide film layer into fine unevenness, and then coating it with a water repellent.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim
46 words
The process according to claim 1, wherein said metal oxide film layer is formed by applying a vehicle obtained through hydrolysis and polycondensation of a metal alkoxide in the presence of water, alcohol and a catalyst onto the surface of said glass and then baking it.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim
56 words
The process according to claim 2, wherein said metal alkoxide is represented by a general formula of M(OR)n wherein M is a metal selected from Si, Ti and AI other than alkali metal and alkaline earth metal, and R is a methyl group, an ethyl group, an isopropyl group, a propyl group or a butyl group.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim
33 words
The process according to claim 1, wherein said fine unevenness is formed by subjecting said metal oxide film layer to an etching treatment with a solution containing 0.001-1.0% by weight of hydrofluoric acid.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim
23 words
The process according to claim 1, wherein said fine unevenness is formed by subjecting said metal oxide film layer to a plasma etching.
