Abstract
Abstract When a spatial distribution of a physical quantity to be displayed is given, according to the present invention the value range of the physical quantity is divided into a plurality of small value ranges, then for every small value range the spatial positions where the physical quantity has a value falling into the small value range are obtained to display the same successively for all small value ranges.

Claims Analysis
Total Claims: 7
Claim 1
Independent Claim
99 words
A display method for displaying the three-dimensional spatial distribution of a physical quantity, comprising the following steps: - dividing the value range of the physical quantity into a plurality of small value ranges, - successively selecting the small value ranges so that the values belonging to the respective small value ranges successively increase or decrease, - obtaining for each selected small value range all of the positions in the three-dimensional space the physical quantity of which has a value falling into the respective selected small value range, and - displaying the same on a display for a predetermined time.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim
35 words
The method according to claim 1, characterized in that the number of the physical quantity values is finite, and the small value ranges respectively comprise one of the physical quantity values of said finite number.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim
71 words
The method according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that for each selected small value range either the positions in the three-dimensional space having values of the physical quantity being larger than those in the selected small value range are obtained and displayed, or the positions in the three-dimensional space having values of the physical quantity being smaller than those in the selected small value range are obtained and displayed.
Claim 4
Independent Claim
47 words
The method according to claims 1 to 3, characterized in that a two-dimensional projection of a coordinate system, such as a cartesian coordinate system or a polar coordinate system, corresponding to the two-dimensional display of the spatial distribution of the physical quantity, is indicated on the diaplay.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim
124 words
A display device (13, 14, 15) for displaying the three-dimensional spatial distribution of a physical quantity, particularly for carrying out the method of claims 1 to 4, comprising - division means for dividing the value range of the physical quantity into a plurality of small value ranges, - designation means for successively selecting the small value ranges so that the values belonging to the respective small value ranges successively increase or decrease, - distribution calculation means for obtaining for each selected small value range all of the positions in the three-dimensional space the physical quantity of which has a value falling into the respective selected small value range, and - display means for displaying the same on a display (15) for a predetermined time.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim
67 words
The device according to claim 5, characterized in that it is further adapted to either obtain and display the positions in the three-dimensional space having values of the physical quantity being larger than those in the selected small value range, or to obtain and display the positions in the three-dimensional space having values of the physical quantity being smaller than those in the selected small value range.
Claim 7
Independent Claim
50 words
The device according to claims 5 and 6, characterized in that it comprises means for indicating a two-dimensional projection of a coordinate system, such as a cartesian coordinate system or a polar coordinate system, corresponding to the two-dimensional display of the spatial distribution of the physical quantity, on the display.
