Total Claims: 10
Claim 1
Independent Claim
118 words
A method for improving the precision of power regulation in a digital radio telephone in which there is used in the regulation of the power of a power amplifier (1) a comparator (5) one input of which receives a voltage obtained from a detector (2) measuring the output power of the amplifier (1) and which has been attenuated in a controllable attenuator (3), and to the other input there is connected a reference voltage, characterized in that the reference voltage is controllable within an operating range (ΔV), in conjunction with the attenuator, whereby the voltage range (ΔV) is available entirely, or for a major part, for each power level or power level group of the telephone output power.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim
36 words
A method according to Claim 1, characterized in that the reference voltage is formed from signals on control lines by means of a D/A converter (4), whereby the desired number of reference voltage levels are obtained.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim
19 words
A method according to Claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the attenuator (3) is a multi-step controllable attenuator.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim
34 words
The use of the method according to any of Claims 1 to 3, characterized in that the method is used for tuning the power levels to the correct level in connection with telephone manufacture.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim
117 words
Apparatus for improving the precision of power regulation in a digital radio telephone in which there is used in the regulation of the power of a power amplifier (1) a comparator (5) one input of which receives a voltage obtained from a detector (2) measuring the output power of the amplifier (1) and which has been attenuated in a controllable attenuator (3), and to the other input there is connected a reference voltage, characterized in that the reference voltage is controllable within an operating range (ΔV), in conjunction with the attenuator, whereby the voltage range (ΔV) is available entirely, or for a major part, for each power level or power level group of the telephone output power.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim
35 words
Apparatus according to Claim 5, characterized in that the reference voltage is formed from signals on control lines by means of a D/A converter (4), whereby the desired number of reference voltage levels are obtained.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim
17 words
Apparatus according to Claim 5 or 6, characterized in that the attenuator (3) is a multi-step attenuator.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim
32 words
The use of apparatus according to any of Claims 5 to 7, characterized in that it is used for tuning the power levels to the correct level in connection with telephone manufacture.
Claim 9
Independent Claim
