Artificial hip cup
Abstract
<IMAGE> The invention relates to an artificial acetabular cup, which consists of a metallic outer shell (1) with anchoring pins (11, 12, 13) and a metallic inner shell (2). In relation to an assembly axis (17), the inner shell (2) is supported on the pole in the axial direction on a shoulder (14) and radially with a centering pin (4) in a bore (16). The inner shell (2) has play (5) on its outer edge with the outer shell (1) and is supported there elastically with a damping ring (3) attached to it radially in a groove (7) in the outer shell (1). Because the wall thickness (18) of the outer shell (1) is less than a fifth of the wall thickness (19) of the inner shell (2), the outer shell (1) can follow slight changes in the bone tissue. In addition, the elastic outer shell (1) compensates for tension to the bone tissue during the transmission of force peaks. The damping effect is reinforced by the elastic damping ring (3) and by a shoulder (14) which is elastic in the direction of the mounting axis (17). <IMAGE>
