Voice and image communicating apparatus

Claim 1

A communicating apparatus comprising: receiving means (6) for receiving image data sent from a calling party communicating apparatus; memory means (2) for storing the image data received by said receiving means in correspondence with ID data indicative of the calling party communicating apparatus; and display means (4) for receiving the ID data upon reception of a communication request from the calling party communicating apparatus and for reading out and displaying the image data corresponding to the received ID data from said memory means (2) so that a user at the communicating apparatus being called can identify visually the calling party, characterised in that said memory means is so arranged that plural image data received from the same calling party communication apparatus during a plurality of different and separate communications are stored in the memory means in correspondence with the ID data of that calling party communication apparatus, and said display means is arranged to display at the next communication request from the calling party communication apparatus the plural image data corresponding to the different users of the calling party communication apparatus received and stored in consequence of said plurality of previous communications, thereby enabling the user of the communication apparatus to decide whether or not to establish communication with the calling party.
