Process for preparing a polypropylene molding composition
Abstract
Abstract Translated from German Durch Copolymerisation von Propylen mit Ethylen oder einem 1-Olefin der Formel R-CH=CH-R in Gegenwart eines Katalysators bestehend aus einem Metallocen der Formel I
By copolymerization of propylene with ethylene or a 1-olefin of the formula R -CH = CH-R in the presence of a catalyst consisting of a metallocene of the formula I
in which M¹ is titanium, zirconium, hafnium, vanadium, Is niobium or tantalum, and an aluminoxane gives a polypropylene molding composition with syndiotactic polymer chains in high yield. This molding compound has a very high molar mass, a very narrow molar mass distribution and a very high syndiotaxy. Moldings made from the molding compound are characterized by high transparency, flexibility, tear resistance and excellent surface gloss.
