In Katalog "Anlagenparameter" und "Produktionstypen" können weitere, einschränkende Eingabewerte enthalten sein. In einem ersten Schritt wird produkt- und maschinenabhängig eine möglichst die volle Breite benötigten Bahnen ausnutzende "Start-Bahnbelegung" bestimmt. Diese wird in einem zweiten Schritt um die "Bahnführungsmöglichkeiten" der Druckmaschine erweitert. In einem dritten Schritt werden die zu einer Bahnführungsmöglichkeit vorhandenen "Farbkombinationen" berücksichtigt. Davon werden in einem vierten Schritt nur die zur Bestimmung der Druckplattenbelegung herangezogen, welche im Vergleich zur "Farbanforderung" für das Produkt eine zumindest übereinstimmende Farbigkeit zulassen. Die gefundene Druckplattenbelegung steht in einem "Produktschema", oder nach einer "Farbzuordnung" von die "Farbanforderung" überschreitenden Farbigkeiten in einem "Ausschieß-Schema" zur Verfügung. Zur Erzeugung weiterer Druckplattenbelegungen können der vierte, oder der dritte und vierte Schritt zumindest teilweise wiederholt werden. Bei Bedarf können zu Beginn des dritten Schrittes die Bahnführungsmöglichkeiten von Bahnbezug in Produktbezug übergeführt werden.
