Abstract
Abstract The television receiver comprises a remote control device (1). The main characteristic of the apparatus consists in the fact that said remote control device (1) provides for cyphering in an exclusive way the control codes which it transmits and that the receiver shows an exclusive decyphering circuit capable of decyphering said cyphered control coded received from the remote control transmitter. Therefor, the remote control transmitter (1) can only and exclusively operate together with the coupled receiver set (2-7).

Claims Analysis
Total Claims: 9
Claim 1
Independent Claim
53 words
Improved television receiver comprising a remote control device, characterized in that said remote control device (1) provides for cyphering in an exclusive way the control codes which it transmits and that the receiver shows an exclusive decyphering circuit (3,6) capable of decyphering said cyphered control codes received from the remote control transmitter (1).
Claim 2
Dependent Claim
Claim 3
Dependent Claim
49 words
Improved television receiver, according to claim 1, characterized in that on the box which includes said remote control transmitter (1) there are stamped in a very clear way words forming a warning sentence saying that the remote control can operate only and exclusively together with the coupled receiver set.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim
32 words
Improved television receiver, according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the code cyphering is made by means of a key word, which is different for each individual transmitter-receiver.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim
32 words
Improved television receiver, according to claim 3, characterized in that said key word, which is different for each individual transmitter-receiver, is memorized both in the transmitter (1) and in the receiver (7).
Claim 6
Dependent Claim
41 words
Improved television receiver, according to claim 4, characterized in that said key word, which is different for each individual transmitter-receiver, is memorized in two EPROM type memories one contained in the transmitter (1) and another one contained in the receiver (7).
Claim 7
Dependent Claim
27 words
Improved television receiver, according to any one of the preceding claims from from 3 to 5, characterized in that said key word consists in a binary number.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim
38 words
Improved television receiver, according to claim 6, characterized in that the code cyphering (decyphering) according to said key number is made performing a logic exclusive OR operation between the code to be cyphered (decyphered) and the key number.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim
45 words
Improved television receiver, according to claim 4, characterized in that said key word is memorized in the receiver (2) in a non-volatile RAM type memory and can be changed, following a suitable procedure, in case the transmitter (1) is substituted due to loss or breakdown.
