A compacted body of powdered inhalation medicament for administration from an inhalation device comprising a medicament reservoir (3) adapted to receive said compacted body of powdered medicament (10) and metering means (11) for dispensing medicament from the reservoir (3), the metering means including means for abrading the compacted body (10); characterised in that the body comprises a loose powder including an active ingredient having a particle size of from 1 to 10 /1.m compressed to form a tightly compacted body, the degree of compaction being sufficient to impart the body with structural integrity such that a plurality of predetermined doses of medicament can be metered therefrom by abrasion.
