Abstract

Abstract A video digitising and display adapter for use with a personal computer. Analog video data input in a plurality of formats including composite video, RGB, and Y/C video are received by the adapter and digitised. Subsequent conversion back to analog form results in a video image output for simultaneous display in the composite video, RGB, and Y/C video formats or combinations thereof. Microcomputer control of the adapter permits selection of the particular input format video signal selected from the multiformat inputs as well as the particular combination of different video output format signals made available by the adapter.

Claim 12
Dependent Claim 11 words
A digital computer comprising apparatus as claimed in any preceding claim.
Claim 13
Independent Claim 61 words
A method for operating a digital computer having a bus structure to capture and display video images, the method comprising the steps of simultaneously receiving a plurality of video input signals each in a correspondingly different video signal format; and pre-selecting different ones of the video signals in functional response to a selection signal delivered onto the bus by the computer.
Claim 14
Independent Claim 61 words
A method for operating a digital computer having a bus structure to capture and display video images, the method comprising the steps of simultaneously receiving a plurality of video input signals each in a correspondingly different video signal format; and pre-selecting different ones of the video signals in functional response to a selection signal delivered onto the bus by the computer.
Claim 15
