Abstract

Abstract A magneto-optical recording and/or reproducing apparatus comprises an optical head (2) for providing a light spot for recording, reproducing and erasing for a magneto-optical disc (1), magnetic head (4) which is disposed at a position opposing to the optical head (2) with the magneto-optical disc (1) therebetween and provides a magnetic field for recording and erasing while maintaining a substantially constant distance from the magneto-optical disc (1) by effecting a lift obtained caused by an air flow generated by the rotation of the disc (1), a loadbeam (24) which has the magnetic head (4) on its one end and serves to provide a force caused by elastic deformation to the magnetic head (4) thereby to be balanced with the lift thus obtained, and a moving mechanism connected to the loadbeam (24). Approaching or evading the magnetic head (4) to or from the magneto-optical disc (1) can be realized by deforming the moving mechanism.

Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 9
Claim 1
Independent Claim 242 words
A magneto-optical recording and/or reproducing apparatus comprising: an optical head for providing a light spot for recording, reproducing and erasing of information to and from a magneto-optical disc which is inserted from the outside, then, moved to a predetermined mounting position and mounted thereinto; a magnetic head disposed at a position opposing to said optical head with said magneto-optical disc therebetween for providing a magnetic field for recording and erasing of information while maintaining a substantially constant distance from said magneto-optical disc by effecting a lift obtained caused by an air flow generated by a rotation of said magneto-optical disc; a load means which has said magnetic head on its one end and elastically deforms to generate a force to be balanced with said lift; a deformation means connected to said load means; a turntable for providing a torque to said magneto-optical disc; and a magnetic head moving means for moving said magnetic head by deforming said deformation means; wherein said magnetic head moving means has said deformation means deformed in a direction that said magnetic head is substantially parallel at least to a rotational axis of said turntable as well as be apart from said optical head until said magneto-optical disc is moved to said predetermined mounting position thereby evading said magnetic head from said magneto-optical disc and in a direction that said magnetic head approaches said magneto-optical disc after said magneto-optical disc has been disposed at said predetermined mounting position.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 242 words
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 16 words
An apparatus as claimed in claim 1, wherein said magneto-optical disc is contained in a cartridge.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 24 words
An apparatus as claimed in claim 1, wherein said deformation means comprises an elastic material body larger in spring constant than said load means.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 35 words
An apparatus as claimed in claim 3, wherein said deformation means is under no application of an external force when said magnetic head is approached to said magneto-optical disc by said magnetic head moving means.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 17 words
An apparatus as claimed in claim 1, wherein said deformation means includes at least a link mechanism.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 54 words
An apparatus as claimed in claim 1, wherein said magnetic head moving means has said deformation means deformed by abutting the same against a structural member fixedly mounted on a case housing the apparatus under such a state that said magnetic head is positioned further peripherally of a recording area of said magneto-optical disc.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 64 words
An apparatus as claimed in claim 1, wherein at least one part of said deformation means has no relative motion to said optical head. 8. An apparatus as claimed in claim 1, wherein said magnetic head moving means has said deformation means deformed by applying the movement of said optical head in a direction toward either the periphery or center of said magneto-optical disc.
