Abstract
Abstract According to a display apparatus of the present invention there can be obtained a smooth display picture free from roughness, of high resolution and high luminance by allowing a local ununiformity in the arrangement pitch of light emitting pixels to an allowable extent under the conventional simple signal processing wherein sampling of a television signal is performed at fixed intervals of time.

Claims Analysis
Total Claims: 4
Claim 1
Independent Claim
108 words
A display apparatus including: a plurality of display devices each having a plurality of light emitting pixels which are arranged in a matrix form in groups of two, three or four adjacent to one another in the row and/or column direction of the arrangement so that an intragroup arrangement pitch P₀ between the light emitting pixels in each of the groups is smaller than an intergroup arrangement pitch P₁ between adjacent groups; and drive means for causing each of said light emitting pixels of each of said display devices to emit light on the basis of data obtained by sampling a television signal at fixed intervals of time.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim
Claim 3
Dependent Claim
33 words
A display apparatus according to Claim 1, wherein when an unequal pitch rate α is defined as an equation α = P₀/P₁, said apparatus satisfies a relation of 0.8 ≦ α < 1.0.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim
72 words
A display apparatus according to one of Claims 1 and 2, wherein said plural light emitting pixels of each of said display device are constituted by one kind of light emitting pixels which emit a monochromatic light for monochromatic display, or of three kinds of light emitting pixels which emit three primary colors, or of one kind of light emitting pixels each having three areas capable of emitting three primary colors respectively.
