Contamination removal process.
Abstract
One method of facilitating the removal of unwanted contaminating substances from a surface is: a) applying a solution containing a polysaccharide and a solvent for that solution to the surface to be treated, before it is subjected to the contaminating substance , said polysaccharide having the property, on drying, of forming a solid redissoluble or swelling film; b) allowing the solution thus applied to dry, so that it forms a solid film on the surface to be treated; (c) treating the surface covered by the film with a liquid having the property of redissolving the film or allowing it to swell; and d) removing the unwanted contaminating substance by removing the dissolved or swollen layer which covers the surface of the film.
