Abstract
Abstract This invention discloses a regenerable diesel particulate trap (10) comprised of alternately layered expanded ceramic fibers (12, 14, 16, 18, 20) and electrical heater elements (13, 15, 17, 19) wound onto a perforated substrate. The electrical heater elements (13, 15, 17, 19) may be energized to burn or oxidize the particulate in the trap (10).
