Abstract

The separation of gas mixtures with vacuum swing adsorption in a two-adsorber system with recovery of the less strongly adsorbable phase and desorption of the adsorbed gas portion at negative pressure in two adsorbers filled with selectively adsorbing adsorbent essentially takes place in such a way that two adsorbers are operated alternately and that at no time of the separation process the supply of the raw gas and also the desorption of the adsorbed gas portion is prevented by a vacuum pump, whereby adsorber A is relaxed in direct current at its upper end after reaching its maximum adsorption pressure, at the same time the vacuum pump is connected to the lower end of adsorber A. remains, and at the same time adsorber B after the end of its evacuation step with expansion gas from adsorber A at the upper end of the adsorber and additionally at the lower end with the raw gas to be separated is partially pressed on, thereby reducing the raw gas g is separated.
