Claim 3
Independent Claim 53 words
A method of making an optical component which comprises inserting a pre-assembled device carrier, comprising an optical component mounted on a support structure, into a mould, filling the mould with light and/or thermally curable material, optically aligning the device assembly and curing the material to form an alignment shell about the device carrier.
Claim 4
Independent Claim 53 words
A method of making an optical component which comprises inserting a pre-assembled device carrier, comprising an optical component mounted on a support structure, into a mould, filling the mould with light and/or thermally curable material, optically aligning the device assembly and curing the material to form an alignment shell about the device carrier.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 18 words
A method as claimed in claim 1 or claim 2 wherein said material is a radiation curable material.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 17 words
A method as claimed in claim 3, wherein the material is curable by irradiation with UV radiation.
Claim 7
Independent Claim 16 words
A method as claimed in any preceding claim, comprising curing of said material at elevated temperature.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 16 words
An optical component made by the method according to any one of claims 1 to 5
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 36 words
An optical component comprising a pre-assembled device carrier which comprises a support structure and an optical component mounted thereon, and further comprising an alignment shell about the device carrier formed of light and/or thermally cured material.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim 36 words
An optical component comprising a pre-assembled device carrier which comprises a support structure and an optical component mounted thereon, and further comprising an alignment shell about the device carrier formed of light and/or thermally cured material.
Claim 11
Dependent Claim 23 words
A component as claimed in claim 7, wherein the optical component is an opto-electronic component capable of converting light into an electric signal.
Claim 12
Dependent Claim 23 words
A component as claimed in claim 7, wherein the optical component is an opto-electronic component capable of converting an electric signal into light.
