Method for the insertion of message packets with a fixed length in a pulse frame of a digital transmission system
Abstract
Abstract The invention is based on the object of transmitting fixed-length packetised signals via a multiplex structure which has become known by the keyword "network node interface (NNI)". The containers (C-4) used as subframes for the insertion of lower bit-rate signals into the pulse frame of an STM-1 signal with a bit rate of 155 520 kbit/s are subdivided into blocks (B1-B65) for 36 bytes in each case. Each block contains a block header (BK) for an address and a data field (DF) for the packetised information signals. Further container types are divided into blocks of equal length. The invention allows an advantageous transmission of packetised signals via the NNI or SONET multiplex structures. <IMAGE>
