A method according to any one of Claims 1 to 3 in which the identification mark also comprises a colorant having a significant absorption in the visible region of the spectrum.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim
43 words
A method according to Claim 4 which comprises printing the identification mark in the form of a bar code on the article with an ink containing the weakly-coloured, infra-red absorbing material and a colorant having a significant absorption in the range 400-700 nm.
Claim 7
Independent Claim
28 words
A method according to any one of Claims 1 to 5 in which the identification mark comprises at least two weakly-coloured, infra-red absorbing materials having different spectral responses.
