Apparatus for medical and/or nursing purposes
Abstract
Abstract In an apparatus for medical and/or nursing purposes, in particular in the field of operating methods, such as endotracheal intubation, in conjunction with visual examination, or in the field of bronchial and oral hygiene, with a handle, on whose housing there is arranged a light source, an energy source for its current supply, and a holding arrangement for a shaped component, for example a spatula, with a light channel and a light outlet opening, the spatula is blade-shaped and tongue-shaped, its width increasing continuously from the pharynx of the tongue as far as its foramen caecum, at this position takes on at least approximately two thirds of the width of the palate, and runs out from there into the rounded tip of the tongue. The spatula blade has a longitudinal section with a light channel (light channels) and fibre-optic light guides, the light outlet opening lying near an imaginary tangent on the bottom surface of the spatula blade, calculated from the trachea, i.e. at the position with the greatest mass of tongue muscle, i.e. the position of the medically optimal pressing of the tongue during insertion of the laryngoscope at the approximately customary distance from the distal end of the spatula blade. <IMAGE>
