Ammunition feeding device
Abstract
Abstract A device for feeding ammunition to a weapon (3) arranged in the turret (1) of a combat vehicle has an elevator (8) which extends from an annular magazine (5) arranged near the bottom of the turret to an ammunition feeder (7) on the weapon. To make it possible to obtain an uncoupling of the elevator and annular magazine and to utilise the maximum firing rate of the weapon, whilst at the same time ensuring low driving and deceleration forces, the elevator (8) is designed as an endless rotary conveyor (9) which is deflected near the annular magazine (5) on a horizontal axis (10) and near the feeder (7) on an axis (11) essentially parallel to the weapon and following the elevating movement of the weapon, and which has, in the region of the upper deflection, an ammunition transfer position (14) in common with the feeder and, in the region of the lower deflection, a position (13) for receiving the ammunition (6) in common with the annular magazine (5) or with a conveyor (15) extracting the ammunition from this. <IMAGE>
