Abstract
Abstract Apparatus and method for determining the position, including the tilt and offset, of a pointer (PC) with respect to a grid of parallel conductors (7) with which it is electrically coupled is described. Measured responses (Xi to X 6 ) between each of a group of conductors (W 1 to W 6 ) and the pointer (PC) are obtained, and means are provided for fitting an expression, by the least squares or other method, for the responses of said conductors (W 1 to W 6 ) as a function of the distance C 2 between a point in the group (W 1 to W 6 ) and the pointer (PC) to the measuzed responses (X 1 to X 6 ).
