Abstract
Abstract The stem (1) has, in its longitudinal axis, a continuous bore (10) for receiving a centring or guide rod (9). Upon implantation, the stem (1) can be threaded onto the rod (9), which is mounted and held in the centre of the operation cavity (4), and the stem can be pressed into the bone cement (3) in a guided manner. In this way, a uniform minimum thickness of the cement (3) between stem (1) and cortical bone (7) is ensured. <IMAGE>
