Claims Analysis
Total Claims: 4
Claim 1
Independent Claim
170 words
A data processing system providing access for all central processing units thereof to all system resources, said data processing system comprising first (11/151) and second (12/152) central processing unit/operating system combinations and data processing system resources (15, 16, 17) including at least a main memory unit (15), said data processing system being characterized by: said first central processing unit/operating system combination (11/151) including a first list (151A) of accessible resources and a first mechanism (111) for insuring an address generated by said first central processing unit/operating system combination is included in said first list; said second central processing unit/operating system combination (12/152) including a second list (152A) of accessible resources and a second mechanism (121) for insuring that an address generated by said second central processing unit/operating system combination is included in said second list; and allocation means (151B, 152B, 155A) for transferring said data processing system resources from said first list to said second list in response to a request procedure from said second central processing unit/operating system combination.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim
62 words
The data processing system of claim 1, characterized by procedure means (152B) for providing said second CPU/operating system combination with results derived from a required procedure, wherein said required procedure is incompatible with said second CPU/operating system combination, said second combination causing said first CPU/operating system combination to execute said required procedure and provide said results to said second CPU/operating system combination.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim
53 words
The data processing system of claim 2, wherein said main memory unit (15) includes locations (155A) accessible to said first CPU/operating system combination and to said second combination, wherein communication between said first CPU/operating system and said second CPU/operating system combination is implemented by storage and retrieval of signal groups in said locations.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim
80 words
The data processing system of claim 1, characterized in that said allocation means includes: - a first communication portion (151B) associated with said first CPU/operating system combination; - a second communication portion (152B) associated with said second CPU/operating system combination; and - locations (155A) in said main memory unit (15) accessible to said first CPU/operating system combination and said second CPU/operating system combination for transferring messages relating to allocation of resources between said first and said second CPU/operating system combination.
