Electroluminescent device
Abstract
Abstract An electroluminescent device comprising an incandescent lamp base, an adaptor device, a conductor board containing ceramic material and at least one light-emitting diode chip which is mounted on the conductor board inside an epoxy resin material. The electroluminescent device is notable for the fact that it can be used in illuminable instruction devices and signalling lamps, which generally form the interface between man and machine, as a replacement for small incandescent lamps without, however, having the known disadvantages of the latter, which are in common use. A process for producing such an electroluminescent device is based on the fact that a modified, strongly thixotropic epoxy resin makes it possible to encapsulate the light-emitting diode on the conductor board without using a shaping tool.
