Implant as a substitute for a surgically removed patella part
Abstract
An implant (3) is described as a replacement for the rear patella part (1), which has been resected through a flat incision and faces a knee joint endoprosthesis, consisting of a plastic part simulated to the resected patella part, in the central indentation (4) of which on the flat, stepped surface (3a) one end of a metal conical pin (6) carrying a centering metal disc (5) bearing against the flat surface is fastened in a self-locking manner. On the other side of the disc, the pin has an end to be cemented in a bore (7) of the patella and is seated when the centering disc (5) lies against the implant surface (3a) with the conical end (6a) which can be connected to the implant, except by means of a force fit also by positive locking in the hole (4) of the implant (3).
