Combustion engine using register supercharging
Abstract
Abstract In this combustion engine with two-stage register supercharging, excess exhaust gas from an exhaust collector (2) in the engine (1) is utilised in a turbine (7) which can transmit its output to the output shaft (9) of the engine (1) via a clutch (8). One of the two exhaust turbochargers (3; 4; 28) is also fed at either full or restricted rate from the exhaust gas collector (2) depending on the partial load range. By switching the turbine (7) of the turbochargers (3; 4; 28) off or on, opening or closing a discharge duct (19) on the exhaust gas collector (2) and an overflow duct (17) between the charging air collector (16) and the exhaust gas collector (2) and by combinations of these measures the motor output can be adjusted to the particular requirements in a wider partial load range. <IMAGE>
