Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 11
Claim 1
Independent Claim 98 words
In apparatus for thermoplastically processing a thermoplastic, polymeric resin, which comprises; a housing; a resin processing chamber within the housing, defined by a chamber wall which is integral with the housing; an inlet into the chamber for the passage of resin material into the resin processing chamber; a means for removing from the processing chamber the processed resin material; means for controlling the resin temperature in the resin processing chamber; the improvement which comprises; employing as a means for controlling the resin temperature a thin film resistance heater disposed on or near the surface of the chamber wall.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 98 words
In apparatus for thermoplastically processing a thermoplastic, polymeric resin, which comprises; a housing; a resin processing chamber within the housing, defined by a chamber wall which is integral with the housing; an inlet into the chamber for the passage of resin material into the resin processing chamber; a means for removing from the processing chamber the processed resin material; means for controlling the resin temperature in the resin processing chamber; the improvement which comprises; employing as a means for controlling the resin temperature a thin film resistance heater disposed on or near the surface of the chamber wall.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 24 words
The improved apparatus of claim 1 wherein there is temperature control means associated with the means for controlling resin temperature in the processing chamber.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 19 words
The improved apparatus of claim 2 wherein the temperature control means comprises a thermistor mounted on the chamber wall.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 20 words
The improved apparatus of claim 1 wherein a plurality of thin-film resistance heaters operates in separate zones of the chamber.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 17 words
The improved apparatus of claim 1 which further comprises means for cooling the resin in the chamber.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 24 words
The improved apparatus of claim 1 wherein the apparatus is selected from the group consisting of a resin mold, extrusion die and transfer pipe.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 24 words
The improved apparatus of claim 6 wherein the resin mold is a compression mold, thermoforming mold, blow mold, injection mold or a rotation mold.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 31 words
The improved apparatus of claim 6 wherein the extrusion die is a blown film die, blow molding head, slit die for sheet and film, pipe die, profile die, or poltrusion die.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim 51 words
A process for shaping a thermoplastic resin in the melt form which comprises; passing the thermoplastic resin into a chamber which alters the shape of the resin; controlling the temperature of the resin in the chamber by a thin film resistance heater, and removing the shaped thermoplastic resin from the chamber.
Claim 11
Dependent Claim 51 words
A process for shaping a thermoplastic resin in the melt form which comprises; passing the thermoplastic resin into a chamber which alters the shape of the resin; controlling the temperature of the resin in the chamber by a thin film resistance heater, and removing the shaped thermoplastic resin from the chamber.
