Abstract
Abstract Dust, SO3, HCl and HF are separated from waste gases by multi-stage scrubbing with sulphuric acid, dust and SO3 being first scrubbed out of the waste gas with concentrated sulphuric acid, and HCl and HF being subsequently scrubbed out of the waste gas with dilute sulphuric acid, these materials then being stripped by blowing out of a mixture of the concentrated and more dilute sulphuric acids.
