Abstract An active-matrix display device comprising an insulating substrate (1) as a display panel on which a plurality of thin-film transistors (7) and a plurality of picture-element transparent electrodes (5) are disposed in a matrix, wherein a black striped film (55) is disposed between each thin-film transistor (7) and the insulating substrate (1) in such a manner that it covers the entire area except for the picture-element transparent electrodes (5).
