Method and apparatus for automatically levelling sliver density variations in textile machines such as carding or drawing machines, and the like
Abstract
In a method or a device for automatically compensating for band density fluctuations in textile machines such as cards, draw frames and the like, the density of a fiber mat (15) or a fiber band (15.1) fed into an infeed means and the density are determined at the entrance of the textile machine a sliver (8) measured at the output of the textile machine and the resulting signals entered into a controller (17) which produces an output signal (22) to regulate the speed of a feed roller (9) belonging to the feed means in accordance with the two density signals . By fixing the position of a feed plate (10) opposite the feed roller for operation, different forces arise in the nip area (23), in which the fiber mat is increasingly compressed, depending on the density of the fiber mat (15), which are detected with the aid of different measuring means which generate the aforementioned signal (16) given to the controller (17).
