Total Claims: 16
Claim 1
Independent Claim 130 words
In a process for simultaneously cold waving and coloring hair in which the hair is subjected to the action of a hair waving composition containing a reducing agent to wave said hair followed by the neutralization of the effect of said reducing agent by means of a composition containing oxidizing agent, the improvement which comprises carrying out said neutralization in two stages, one of said stages comprising the treating of said hair with first stage neutralization composition containing an oxidizing agent to at least partially neutralize the effect of said reducing agent on said hair, said other stage following after said one stage comprising treating said hair with a second stage neutralization composition containing an oxidizing agent and hair dye to complete said neutralization and to simultaneously dye said hair.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 130 words
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 17 words
The process of claim 1 which said hair dye comprises one or more direct dyeing hair dyes.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 15 words
The process of claim 1 wherein said hair dye comprises an oxidation hair dye system.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 18 words
The process of claim 3 wherein said hair dye also comprises one or more direct dyeing hair dyes.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 20 words
The process of claim 3 wherein said oxidation hair dye system comprises one or more primary oxidation hair dye intermediates.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 18 words
The process of claim 5 wherein said hair dye also comprises one or more direct dyeing hair dyes.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 30 words
The process of claim 3 wherein said oxidation hair dye system comprises one or more primary oxidation hair dye intermediates and one or more oxidation hair dye couplers or modifiers.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 18 words
The process of claim 7 wherein said hair dye also comprises one or more direct dyeing hair dyes.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim 15 words
The process of claim 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 or 8 wherein said oxidizing agent comprises aqueous hydrogen peroxide.
Claim 11
Dependent Claim 24 words
The process of claim 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 or 8 wherein said reducing agent is selected from the group consisting of sulfites, thioglycolic acids and salts thereof.
Claim 12
Dependent Claim 43 words
The process of claim 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 or 8 wherein the concentration of the reducing agent in said hair waving composition is in the range of from about 2% to about 15% by weight based on the total weight of said hair waving compositi >
Claim 13
Dependent Claim 87 words
The process of claim 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 or 8 wherein the concentration of said oxidizing agent in said composition used in said first stage neutralization is in the range of from about 1% to about 15% by weight based on the total weight of said first stage neutralization composition and the concentration of the oxidizing agent in said composition used is said second stage neutralization is in the range of from about 2% to about 4% by weight based on the total weight of said second stage neutralization composition.
Claim 14
Dependent Claim 45 words
The process of claim 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 or 8 wherein the total concentration of hair dye contained in said second stage neutralization compositon is in the range of from about 0.02% to about 4% by weight based on the total weight of said second stage neutralization composition.
Claim 15
Dependent Claim 38 words
The process of claim 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 or 8 wherein the concentration of hair dye contained in said second stage neutralization composition is about sufficient to restore color to the hair that may be lost during the hair waving procedure.
Claim 16
Dependent Claim 30 words
The process of claim 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 or 8 wherein the concentration of hair dye contained in said second stage neutralization composition is sufficient to impart a new color to said hair.
