Abstract 1. Soil covering made of (concrete) shaped blocks which are laid at a distance from one another for the formation of vegetation growth, spacers being arranged in the longitudinal joints and transverse joints thus formed, characterized in that the spacers (17, 17a; 18; 19, 19a) consist of material which dissolves or decomposes in soil, in particular of wood, wooden material (chip material), waste paper, plastic or the like.
