Abstract

Abstract A stoppage-maintaining device for maintaining a baby carriage (A) either in a folded or an unfolded state. The handle bar (3) is pivotally connected to a rear leg (2) by a pivoting stoppage-maintaining bar (6). The stoppage-maintaining bar (6) has two concave grooves (63, 64) on two surfaces which are alternately engageable, as the bar (6) rotates, with a protrusion (71) on an upper end of a stopper (7) sliding on the rear leg (2). Also extending upwardly from the stopper (7) is an engagement plate (72) which, when overlapped with an elastic plate (8) on the rear leg (2), prevents the rotation of the stoppage-maintaining bar (6) from its unfolded state. The engagement plate (72) is biased toward the elastic plate (8).

Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 9
Claim 1
Independent Claim 125 words
A baby carriage (A), comprising: a seat structure (5); a pair of rear leg bars (2) extending downwardly and rearwardly from said seat structure (5); a handle bar (3) extending upwardly and rearwardly from said seat structure (5); at least one stoppage-maintaining bar (6) swingably attached at a base end portion of one of said rear leg bars (2) and at a base end portion of said handle bar (3), said stoppage-maintaining bar (6) having at least one concave groove (63, 64) formed in a rear end portion thereof; and at least one stopper (7) slidable along an axial direction of said rear leg bar (2) having an engagement-stopper protrusion (71) formed on an upper end surface thereof engageable with said concave groove (63, 64).
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 125 words
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 42 words
A baby carriage (A) as recited in claim 1, wherein at least one of said stoppage-maintainng bars (6) has a first concave groove (63) formed in a lower end portion and a second concave groove (64) formed in said rear end portion.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 32 words
A baby carriage (A) as recited in claim 1, further comprising means for biasing said engagement-stopper protrusions (71) into said concave grooves (64) during a folding operation of said handle bar (3).
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 54 words
A baby carriage (A) as recited in claim 2, further comprising means for biasing said engagement-stopper protrusions (71) into said concave groove (63) in an unfolded state of said rear leg bars (2) and said handle bar (3) and into said second concave groove (64) during a folding operation of said handle bar (3).
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 76 words
A baby carriage (A) as recited in claim 1, further comprising: an elastic plate (8) attached to said rear leg bar (2) above said stopper (7); and a stopper-maintaining plate (72) attached on an upper end of one side of said stopper (7), said stopper-maintaining plate (72) extending further toward said stoppage-maintaining bar (6) than said engagement-stopper protrusion (71) and, when overlapped with said elastic plate (8), preventing a rotation of said stoppage- maintaining bar (6).
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 27 words
A baby carriage (A) as recited in claim 5, further comprising spring means (9) for biasing said elastic plate (8) and said stopper (7) toward each other.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 42 words
A baby carriage (A) as recited in claim 5, wherein at least one of said stoppage-maintaining bars (6) has a first concave groove (63) formed in a lower end portion and a second concave groove (64) formed in a rear end portion.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 27 words
A baby carriage (A) as recited in claim 7, further comprising springs (9) means for biasing said elastic plate (8) and said stopper (7) toward each other.
