Mixed lanthanium-magnesium-gallates and lasers using these gallates
Abstract
Mixed gallates of lanthanide-magnesium, laser using single crystals of these gallates. This laser comprises two flash lamps (14, 18) for pumping longitudinally a rod (10) monocrystalline of a gallate of magnetoplombite type emitting a light going from UV to IR, amplified between two mirrors (22-24), and a polarizing prism (26) for sending the amplified light beam to the outside of the laser. The gallate has the formula: <IMAGE> in which M¹ represents Nd, Pr, Ce, Nd-Ce or Pr-Ce in the trivalent state; M² represents aluminum possibly partially substituted by scandium and / or indium; k is a number ranging from 0.94 to 1; x is a number ranging from 0 to 1; t is a number such that 0 <= t <= 0.05, provided that t is ¬ = 0, when x = 0 and that x is ¬ = 0 when t = 0; v is a number such that 0 <= v + t <1; z is a number from 0 to 0.5.
