Abstract
Abstract A detergent composition comprising, in an aqueous medium, (i) at least one amphoteric surfactant, (ii) at least one monoalkyl quaternary ammonium salt cationic surfactant having the formula (I): wherein R₁ represents an alkyl or alkenyl having 12 to 22 carbon atoms, R₂ , R₃ , and R₄ independently represent methyl or ethyl, and X represents a halogen atom or a methylsulfate residue, and (iii) at least one carboxylate anionic surfactant, the mole ratio of the components (ii)/(iii) being within the range from 4/6 to 8/2. This detergent composition has an excellent conditioning effect and low skin irritation.
