Die Membran (25) weist einen flexiblen Träger aus einem biokompatiblen, leblo­sen, lichtdurchlässigen Material, auf dem beispielsweise einen Zellrasen bildende Zellen kultiviert wurden. Durch Ermitteln des zeitlichen Verlaufs der Mengen einer durch die Membran (25) hindurch diffundierenden Substanz kann der Diffusions-Koeffi­zient und/oder die Permeabilität der Membran (25) sowie auch der auf dieser vorhandenen Zellkultur ermittelt werden. Durch ge­eignete Auswahl der Zellen können Bedingungen geschaffen wer­den, die denjenigen bei der Resorption der betreffenden Sub­stanz durch die Biophase eines Lebewesens sehr nahekommen.
